NYC Subway Adds Massage Cars

Relax while delayed

According to reports, the MTA has unveiled “massage cars” designed to keep riders calm during endless delays. For an extra $10, commuters can recline in vibrating chairs while robotic arms knead their stress. The pilot launched on the F train, though riders claim the massage felt suspiciously like sitting on a broken seat spring.

Each car features mood lighting, lavender diffusers, and whale sounds blasting over the PA system. Conductors now whisper guided meditations instead of delay excuses. Riders are given complimentary cucumber slices, though one man was spotted making a salad mid-ride. Influencers call it “self-care on rails,” while critics argue “it’s just shaking seats with Febreze.”

TikTok’s #MassageSubway is buzzing: clips of commuters falling asleep mid-massage, pranksters swapping whale sounds with techno, and Wall Street bros demanding tax write-offs for “therapeutic commutes.” Black market vendors already sell subway tokens scented with eucalyptus.

Tabloids rubbed it in. The Post groaned: “KNEAD FOR SPEED.” The Daily News countered: “RUBWAY SYSTEM.”

Mayor Adams purred: “This is relaxation infrastructure.” Governor Hochul muttered: “If Albany tries this, I’m banning hot stones.”
