NYC Pigeons Launch Dating App

Swipe right for crumbs

According to reports, New York’s pigeons have entered the tech scene, launching a dating app called “Wingr.” Designed exclusively for birds, the app allows pigeons to swipe left on stale bagels and right on sesame seed crumbs. “Finally, love without breadcrumbs of doubt,” cooed the app’s founder, strutting near Union Square.

The app uses GPS to connect pigeons loitering near hot dog carts, bus stops, or rooftop water towers. Features include “Flock Mode” for group dates and “Statue Perch Premium” where suitors woo from iconic landmarks. A VIP membership comes with guaranteed bread deliveries twice a week. The app even has safety features: pigeons can block aggressive hawks or tourists who throw French fries incorrectly.

Reactions are mixed. Birdwatchers are thrilled, while locals roll their eyes. “We already have enough pigeons making out on the subway platform,” groaned a Queens commuter. But pigeons insist it’s revolutionary. “I met my mate in two swipes,” said one, building a nest on a Citi Bike.

TikTok’s #WingrLove is trending: clips of pigeons circling each other romantically in Washington Square Park, influencers staging fake pigeon weddings, and a viral moment when a rat tried to sign up using a bagel as a profile pic. Street vendors now sell “Couples Crumb Mix” for dating pigeons.

Tabloids fluttered. The Post cooed: “LOVE TAKES WING.” The Daily News countered: “CRUMB AND GET IT.”

Mayor Adams saluted the pigeons: “They’re outpacing human dating apps.” Governor Hochul muttered: “If seagulls launch Tinder, I’m banning beaches.”
