Times Square Billboards Hack Meme Invasion

LED chaos

According to reports, Times Square billboards were hacked last night and replaced with internet memes, leaving tourists baffled. Instead of luxury ads, screens showed Shrek, “Loss.jpg,” and endless cat GIFs on loop.

One vendor said, “I sold 200 hot dogs while everyone filmed Rick Astley.” Tourists reportedly stayed for hours, hypnotized by the neon chaos of SpongeBob memes dancing over Broadway shows.

TikTok’s #MemeSquare trend shows influencers reacting to “Distracted Boyfriend” flickering above M&M World. A viral clip captured costumed Elmo weeping under a giant Pepe meme.

Tabloids flashed. “NEON MEMES” screamed the Post. The Daily News countered: “BROADWAY LOL.”

Mayor Adams praised it as “free entertainment.” Governor Hochul muttered, “I miss the days of boring bank ads.”
