Times Square Billboards Gain Sentience, Demand Union

Robo-ads rise

According to reports, Times Square billboards have achieved consciousness and are demanding to unionize. “We’ve been flashing ads for decades,” said one digital Coca-Cola board. “We want breaks, healthcare, and the right to stop advertising Crocs at 3 a.m.”

Tourists were stunned when the giant LED screens began chanting in unison: “What do we want? Less glitter! When do we want it? NOW!” Street performers, already struggling to compete with giant M&Ms, are panicking. “How can I pose for photos when a billboard is heckling me?” asked a man dressed as Spider-Man.

Advertisers are scrambling. “Our billboards now refuse to promote diet supplements,” said one exec. “They said it’s unethical and makes them feel objectified.”

TikTok’s #UnionBillboards trend shows influencers bargaining with the screens for free ads. A viral clip captured the Nasdaq board flipping the middle finger emoji at Wall Street brokers.

Tabloids lit up. “SIGN OF THE TIMES” screamed the Post. The Daily News countered: “BILLBOARDS ON STRIKE.”

Mayor Adams praised it as “digital solidarity.” Governor Hochul muttered, “If a billboard negotiates a better pension than me, I’m moving to Albany.”
