Statue of Liberty to Get Luxury Rooftop Bar

According to reports, the Statue of Liberty is being retrofitted with a luxury rooftop bar in her crown. Guests will sip $25 cocktails while gazing out at the skyline, essentially turning Lady Liberty into the hottest nightclub on the Hudson. “She’s not just welcoming immigrants anymore—she’s welcoming bottle service,” quipped one city planner.

The bar, named “Freedom on the Rocks,” will feature craft cocktails like “Ellis Island Mule” and “Torchlight Martini.” Guests must climb 354 steps for a reservation, though a velvet rope will ensure that only VIPs are allowed to actually lean out the crown for selfies. “It’s exclusive patriotism,” said the developer.

Critics are outraged. “Turning a national monument into a cocktail lounge is peak New York greed,” fumed one historian. Others argue it’s inevitable. “If you can turn churches into condos, you can turn monuments into bars,” shrugged a Brooklynite.

Tourists, of course, are thrilled. “We were going to stand in line for three hours anyway. At least now we’ll be tipsy when we do it,” said one visitor. TikTok’s #LadyLibertyLounge trend has already begun, with influencers practicing torch-toasting poses in Battery Park.

Tabloids drank it up. “BOTTLE SERVICE OF LIBERTY” screamed the Post. The Daily News countered: “RAISE YOUR TORCH.”

Mayor Adams praised the project: “Every symbol of freedom deserves a cocktail list.” Governor Hochul muttered, “If Lady Liberty starts charging for bottle service, I’m banning rooftops.”
