Brooklyn Bridge to Add VIP Toll Lane
Pay-to-cross
According to reports, the Brooklyn Bridge will soon feature a VIP toll lane for drivers willing to pay $75 to skip traffic. Officials are branding it the “Bridge Club,” complete with velvet ropes, bouncers, and a DJ spinning house music for stalled commuters. “If you cant afford it, you dont deserve to cross in style,” sniffed one city planner.
Regular drivers are furious. “I already pay $9 for a dirty-water hot dog and $20 for parking,” complained one motorist. “Now Im stuck watching hedge-fund bros zoom past me in Teslas while Im sweating in a Corolla.”
Meanwhile, influencers are treating the lane like a red carpet. TikToks #BridgeClub trend shows luxury cars crawling past gridlock as drivers sip champagne and pose for selfies with the skyline. A viral clip captured a man proposing to his girlfriend in the middle of the toll lane as Uber drivers honked angrily behind them.
Tabloids cashed in. “TOLL TROLLS” screamed the Post. The Daily News countered: “BRIDGE RICHES, POOR CROSSING.”
Mayor Adams praised it as “infrastructure with vibes.” Governor Hochul muttered, “If I need VIP access to visit Brooklyn, Im banning DJs.”
