Bronx Zoo Announces Animal Reality Show
Survival of the cutest
According to reports, the Bronx Zoo is launching its first animal reality TV series, “Zood Out.” Animals will compete in weekly challenges for treats, habitat upgrades, and the coveted “Golden Enclosure.” The first season includes lions, penguins, and one extremely bitter tortoise with a Brooklyn accent.
“Its like Big Brother, but everyone licks themselves,” said the showrunner. Contestants will face tasks such as “Best Roar,” “Most Dramatic Waddle,” and “Escape Room: Literally.”
Zoo visitors are invited to vote. “I came to see animals, not watch a lemur get voted off the island,” complained one dad. But teens are hooked. “Penguins have more drama than Kardashians,” said a TikTok influencer.
TikToks #ZooRealityShow is trending: clips show a lion refusing to film until given organic meat, a penguin storming off after being accused of flirting with a seal, and a viral clip of two giraffes having a neck-fight edited with Real Housewives sound effects. Street vendors now sell “Team Penguin” shirts.
Tabloids chimed in. The Post screamed: “LOVE IS RAW.” The Daily News countered: “SURVIVAL OF THE FLUFFIEST.”
Mayor Adams praised it: “This is the culture New York deserves.” Governor Hochul muttered, “If squirrels get reality shows, Im banning remotes.”
