Williamsburg Hipsters Launch Pigeon-Sharing App

Feathered freelancing

According to reports, Williamsburg hipsters have launched a pigeon-sharing app, claiming the birds are the original ride-share service. For $4.99 a month, members can “rent” pigeons to deliver notes, tote small items, or simply pose for Instagram photos with ironic captions.

Founders insist the app is “eco-friendly” and “authentic,” since pigeons have been freeloading off New Yorkers for decades. Each bird comes with a QR-coded ankle bracelet and its own Spotify playlist (mostly lo-fi beats).

TikTok’s #PigeonShare trend shows users sending iced lattes via pigeon to brunch spots. One viral video showed a bird refusing to deliver because it “didn’t want to cross the East River.”

Tabloids cooed. “WING AND A PRAYER” screamed the Post. The Daily News countered: “APP OF THE BIRDS.”

Mayor Adams praised it as “air mobility.” Governor Hochul muttered, “I thought Uber Eats was already bad enough.”
