Times Square Installs Nap Pods

Tourists can finally collapse safely

Times Square, long known as the “Crossroads of Insomnia,” has introduced nap pods for exhausted tourists. According to reports, pods are installed between Elmo impersonators and hot dog carts. Each comes with noise-canceling headphones to block out both Broadway ads and breakdancers.

“It’s like a Marriott closet,” said one early user, snoring as costumed Spider-Man tapped on the glass. The pods charge by the minute, with surcharge fees if you drool. Souvenir vendors already sell “I Slept in Times Square” T-shirts.

Locals are skeptical. “I’d rather pass out on the Q train—it’s free,” said a Queens commuter. Still, TikTok’s #NapSquare trend is thriving, with influencers pretending to meditate before waking up covered in dollar-store confetti.

Tabloids chimed in. “SLEEP NO MORE” screamed the Post. The Daily News countered: “REST IN BROADWAY.”

Mayor Adams called it “urban wellness.” Governor Hochul admitted she once napped on a 6 train, calling it “research.”
