NYC Subway Announces Nap Zones

Snooze between stops

According to reports, the MTA has unveiled designated “Nap Zones” on the subway, where riders are encouraged to snooze in padded corners between train cars. These soft spots allegedly smell less like urine than the rest of the system—though only slightly.

“Finally, a place to pass out that’s sanctioned,” said one commuter before drooling onto his MetroCard. Tourists assume it’s performance art, while locals use it as free AirBnB during rent hikes.

TikTok’s #NapCommute trend shows influencers cozying under weighted blankets as rats scurry across their shoes. One viral fail: someone overslept from 14th Street to Coney Island, missing an entire workday.

Tabloids yawned. “SNOOZE CRUISE” screamed the Post. The Daily News countered: “NAP TO THE FUTURE.”

Mayor Adams praised it as “restorative justice.” Governor Hochul muttered, “Call me when they install showers.”
