NYC Hot Dog Stands Accept Cryptocurrency

Satoshi with mustard

According to reports, hot dog carts now accept Bitcoin, Ethereum, and something called “Dogecoin with Relish.” Street vendors wave QR codes instead of ketchup bottles, baffling tourists who just wanted change for a $20.

“I sold one frank for .0003 Bitcoin and now apparently I own a condo in Queens?” said a confused vendor. Others say crypto tips are great until the WiFi crashes and a bratwurst transaction hangs in the blockchain.

TikTok’s #CryptoDog craze features influencers scanning QR codes while eating mustard-dripping NFTs. A viral moment showed a pigeon trying to pay with a Subway token.

Tabloids salivated. “DOGE WITH DOGS” screamed the Post. The Daily News countered: “HOT DOGCOIN.”

Mayor Adams praised the innovation, calling it “digital digestion.” Governor Hochul asked if Nathan’s Fourth of July contest would now be sponsored by Coinbase. Wall Street muttered it was the first stable thing crypto had done in years.
