Chelsea Art Galleries Accept Dog Paintings

Paw-traits fetch high prices

The Chelsea art scene has gone to the dogs. According to reports, galleries now showcase abstract works created by canines. Art critics describe them as “raw, primal, and slightly slobbery.” One pug’s paw smear recently sold for $40,000.

“My Yorkie has more gallery representation than I do,” complained a struggling painter. Dogs use non-toxic paints applied by paw, tail, or tongue. VIP openings feature organic treats and water bowls shaped like champagne flutes. Humans are asked not to drool.

Reactions vary. Tourists adore the “pupperformances,” while locals worry gentrification has officially jumped the leash. TikTok’s #PupPicasso trend shows influencers commissioning portraits while trying not to get licked mid-canvas.

Tabloids barked. “RUFF ART” screamed the Post. The Daily News countered: “PAW-SOME.”

Mayor Adams praised it as “cultural inclusivity for man’s best friend.” Governor Hochul promised to regulate “kibble-for-canvas” sales taxes.

For now, Chelsea proves even dogs can out-earn struggling artists.
