Broadway Ushers Unionize for Drama Rights

Curtain call for contracts

According to reports, Broadway ushers have unionized, demanding overtime pay for dealing with confused tourists, bathroom emergencies, and audience members who think Hamilton is still on discount. Their contract proposal includes hazard pay for being asked “Where’s the bathroom?” 200 times a night.

One usher shouted, “We deserve Tony Awards for patience!” Another demanded free lozenges for endless “no photos please” warnings.

TikTok’s #UsherStrike trend shows ushers marching in perfect choreographed lines. A viral clip featured a union chant sung in full harmony with jazz hands.

Tabloids dramatized. “USHER UPRISING” screamed the Post. The Daily News countered: “AISLE RIGHTS.”

Mayor Adams praised it as “standing ovations for labor.” Governor Hochul muttered, “I clap when the show ends, not contract talks.”
